Luna Guide: Detection Arrows and Passive Marks

One arrow paints a whole route and everything moving under it. How to build an intel plan that survives contact instead of dying with it.

Luna (Luna Kim) is the Recon operator most squads should treat as their default scout. Her detection is not a single ping on a single player — it is a strip of ground that keeps reporting for as long as anything moves across it.

In an extraction mode where dying costs gear, that is close to the most valuable thing an operator can bring, and it is why she shows up at the top of Operations recommendations more often than any other pick.

Arrow as a route plan

Detection Arrow exposes enemies underneath the arrow and leaves micro-sensors along its flight path that detect moving targets.

The word to notice is “along.” You are not marking a doorway, you are marking a corridor — so fire it down the lane the enemy is likely to rotate through, not at the wall you are about to breach. A good arrow keeps reporting for a long time without you doing anything.

In Operations, fire it at the approach to your extraction point before you commit to the run. Knowing a squad is rotating in is the difference between leaving with loot and leaving the loot.

Volt Arrow damage

Volt Arrow is her damage tool: the arrowhead generates current that keeps dealing damage after the hit.

It is not a burst weapon, which means it is the wrong choice in a straight duel and the right one against a target that has already broken line of sight. Tag someone retreating, and the damage keeps them honest while you reposition. It also confirms a hit through the trait, so you know when it landed without watching.

Rebuild intel between fights

The most common Luna mistake is treating detection as a one-time cast. Her value compounds when the squad re-fires after every fight, because the enemy’s rotation is different after every engagement.

Build the habit: win a fight, re-arrow the lane they will use to come back, then loot. Most squads loot first and get pushed blind.

Enemy Analysis follow-up

Her trait marks any enemy she damages for a short window. That turns ordinary rifle fire into reconnaissance — two shots at a runner keeps them painted for the squad even if you are not the one who finishes.

Practical use: when a target breaks away, put one round into them rather than letting them leave clean. The mark is worth more than the damage.

Modes

In Warfare she plays as a lane-denial scout: arrows over objectives, marks on rotations, a frag through the doorway. In Operations she plays as an insurance policy — the operator whose intel stops the squad from walking into a fight it did not have to take.

Do not try to be the fragger in Operations. Read the arrow count off the ability panel once and note it, then let Raptor or Hackclaw cover the angles her arrow cannot reach.
