PvE Prestige in Tarkov: Six Levels, Nothing Lost

Update 1.2.0.0 added six PvE Prestige levels. What resets, what you keep, and why here the reset question flips compared with PvP Prestige.

Update 1.2.0.0 brought Prestige to the PvE zone, and it behaves differently enough from the PvP version that reusing old advice about it will cost you rewards.

Six levels, requirements that stack

PvE Prestige offers six levels, each with its own set of conditions. Reaching one can require a high enough character level, specific tasks, particular hideout zones, finishing the main storyline, holding required items or money, and leveled character skills. The entry level is deliberately cheaper than the equivalent PvP Prestige, which is aimed at players who have been sitting on an old PvE profile since release and want to move into the current content framework, including the storyline and the Icebreaker chapter.

What resets and what does not

A PvE Prestige reset touches only that PvE profile. Your Arena progression is untouched, and the reset does not touch your PvP or seasonal characters at all. Some gear carries over, as does part of your character skills and weapon mastery, with retained skill and mastery progress reaching up to fifty percent depending on the Prestige level. The rewards are the part worth planning around. Every reward obtained through Prestige stays with the profile permanently even across a wipe, and that list includes TarCoin, unique dogtags, hideout decorations, melee weapons, figurines and a unique variant of the Gamma secure container. Some of those items can then be used in other modes.

Why the decision is different here

Compare that with the PvP side, where the trade is described in our Prestige reset page as handing over level, stash, hideout and trader standings for account-wide benefits. In PvE the calculation is much closer to pure upside: you are discarding a progress state you have already exhausted, keeping up to half your skills, and receiving permanent items that survive future resets. The real question stops being “is this worth losing something” and becomes “what am I still attached to on this character.” There is one trap worth noting. Players who never reset since release are better served by taking the first level soon, because doing so is what pushes the profile into the current storyline and event structure; waiting means playing content the rest of the game has moved past. Our wipe status page covers which resets are forced and which are voluntary, and the Kord Breach overview explains where seasonal resets sit outside this system entirely.
