Helldivers 2 Reinforce Budget: Tickets and the Last-Man Rule

Reinforce gives 5 lives per player, 20 for a squad, and one ticket returns every 120 seconds. A zero-ticket wipe fails unless the objective is done.

How many lives you get

Reinforce is a default stratagem available in every mission. The code is Up, Down, Right, Left, Up. Each player contributes five reinforcement tickets, so the squad pool is:

  • Solo — 5 tickets.
  • Two players — 10.
  • Three players — 15.
  • Four players — 20. These are shared, not per person. One player dying ten times burns half the whole squad’s budget, which is why playing careful matters even when you personally are fine.

What happens when you run out

Once the pool is empty, it is not gone for good. One ticket regenerates every 120 seconds on a first-in-first-out basis, so the person who died earliest is revived first. This slow trickle is your panic button, not a replacement for discipline. The Increased Reinforcement Budget booster adds one ticket per player (a full squad goes from 20 to 24), which is the more reliable life-boosting pick than the Flexible variant that only kicks in after heavy losses.

Solo play

Solo Helldivers get no Reinforce input. Instead, when you die, a pod is launched automatically right after death, so you are back almost immediately — but you still draw from the same five-ticket pool.

The last-man rule

If every Helldiver is dead at once and no tickets remain, the mission fails — unless the main objective is already complete, in which case the operation still counts as a success even through a wipe. That distinction is the single most important thing to internalize: finish the objective, then you can afford to be reckless on the way out.

Pods are weapons

A reinforcement Hellpod hits hard on landing. A well-aimed pod can flatten a Charger, Hulk, Tank, or even a Bile Titan — and also a teammate, so never call it onto living players. You can throw the beacon to a safer spot than where someone fell.

Jammers block it

Stratagem Jammers shut off Reinforce and your other stratagems entirely. The Stratagem Jammers page covers how to handle them, and the samples economy page explains the separate rule about which loot actually survives extraction.
