Loadouts now carry Traits

Before 2.9, a Loadout saved your weapons and equipment but not your Traits, so rebuilding a favorite hunter meant re-picking every perk by hand. Now each Loadout can contain between zero and 15 Traits, with the usual Hunt Dollar and Upgrade Point costs still applied. Crytek’s point is explicit: saving Traits in a preset does not make them free, and the slot increase does not remove the consequences of losing a recruited hunter.

Why this is a real improvement

• Less repetition: frequently used builds (a quiet-solo kit, a boss-killing kit, a tool-heavy kit) can be stored as complete configurations instead of reassembled every session.
• More complete builds: pairing weapons, equipment, and Traits in one preset makes a “build” feel like a build rather than a pile of separate choices.
• Collector friendly: the 75-to-100 Hunter Slot increase helps players who maintain hunters with distinct gear, Traits, or cosmetic identities.

What did not change

The cost of building a hunter is untouched. A saved Trait preset still charges the same Hunt Dollars and Upgrade Points as manual selection. Losing a hunter still costs you that hunter and everything carried. The Fair Play reimbursement system may return some Hunt Dollars if a cheater killed you, but it does not reconstruct the hunter or the kit.

Practical takeaway

Set up two or three complete Loadouts — one leaning on the Spyglass-first solo plan for lone hunts, one optimized for boss bounties — and stop rebuilding them by hand. The change is organization, not power creep, which is exactly the kind of update that helps without destabilizing the bayou.
