Space Marine 2 Co-op Comms Guide

Three Marines with no communication is one Marine and two liabilities. Pings, callouts, and role calls are what turn a random squad into a team.

The ping system does most of the work

You do not need a microphone to communicate. The ping system marks enemies, requests revives, and calls objectives. A squad that pings the priority target before shooting it fights the same enemy at the same time, which is most of what coordination means. The team comps page assumes the squad knows its roles; pinging your role’s target is how that assumption becomes real.

Call the threat, not the weather

Good comms name what needs a decision: an Extremis spawning, a teammate down, an objective opening. Narrating every enemy wastes the attention the real call needs. The operations mode guide structures the mission so the decision points are predictable; call those.

Voice is for timing, pings are for location

When you do use voice, use it for timing pushes and revives, where a half-second matters. Use pings for where things are, because a ping on the map outlasts a sentence. The classes overview helps you describe your role quickly: “Bulwark holding left” is a full sentence in this game.

Revive calls save runs

The single most valuable call is “reviving, cover me.” It tells the squad to stop pushing and screen the revive, which is how downed Marines come back instead of snowballing into a wipe. A squad that talks through revives finishes Operations it would otherwise fail.

Ping first, talk second

The ping system marks enemies, requests revives, and calls objectives, so ping the priority target before shooting it and the squad fights the same enemy at the same time. The team comps page assumes the squad knows its roles, and the operations mode guide structures the mission. Voice is for timing the push and the revive, not for narrating.

The revive call saves runs

The single most valuable call is “reviving, cover me,” because it tells the squad to screen the revive and stop pushing, which is how downed Marines come back instead of snowballing into a wipe.
