BO7 Wildcards: All 9 and Which to Run
All nine Black Ops 7 Wildcards with their unlock levels and effects, and the loadout decisions each one changes.
A Wildcard is the lever that bends your whole Black Ops 7 loadout. Each one changes how many of a slot you carry or what your build can do, and they unlock by player level — reach Level 53 and all nine are open. This guide lists all nine with their unlock level and effect so you can pick the one that fits the job.
The loadout guide covers the eight base slots, and our Combat Specialties guide explains why Perk Greed behaves the way it does.
All nine Wildcards
| Wildcard | Unlock level | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Tac Expert | 15 | Spawn with one extra Tactical. |
| Overkill | 20 | Equip any two non-melee weapons in Primary and Secondary. |
| Danger Close | 24 | Spawn with one extra Lethal. |
| Gunfighter | 29 | Three extra attachment points on your Primary. |
| Perk Greed | 33 | Equip one extra Perk. |
| Prepper | 38 | Carry two different Field Upgrades. |
| Flyswatter | 41 | Replace your melee slot with a Launcher. |
| High Roller | 48 | Equip a fourth Scorestreak. |
| Specialist | 53 | Replace Scorestreaks with three Perks (earned at 200 / 400 / 600 score, the rest at 1,200). |
Which to actually run
- Overkill is the most-used Wildcard because it removes the weak-secondary problem — pair a long-range Primary with an SMG and you cover every range.
- Gunfighter rewards players who tune one gun: three extra attachment points unlock whole recoil or handling builds. | Perk Greed adds a fourth Perk, but your Combat Specialty is still decided by the first three slots — the extra Perk is a bonus, not a way to fake a hybrid.
- High Roller only matters if your streak game is the core of your build; otherwise the slot is better spent elsewhere.
- Specialist swaps Scorestreaks for in-match Perks and, importantly, those Wildcard Perks do not count toward your Combat Specialty — so don’t build a Specialist loadout expecting a color bonus.
Re-locking on Prestige
Wildcards unlock by leveling your profile and re-lock when you take an account Prestige. You can spend a Permanent Unlock on one (the same token system tied to weapon progression in our Weapon Prestige guide) so a Wildcard you depend on stays available after Prestiging.
