Destiny 2 Mint Retrograde: Sources and How to Farm It
Mint Retrograde is a random-roll weapon in Destiny 2. Learn how to check if it is currently farmable and whether to keep your drop.
You just pulled a Mint Retrograde from an engram and paused. Is it a keeper, a shard, or a piece of a collection you are still filling? Most players searching for this weapon are deciding what to do with a fresh drop. A quick check takes less time than farming a replacement.
Check the Collections tab first
Open Collections and search the weapon by name. If you already own it, the entry shows where it dropped and whether it is still farmable. If it lists no sources, the weapon is retired for now. That does not make your drop worthless.
A retired weapon can become relevant again if it returns to a pool. Collections also shows which elements and slots the weapon comes in. The collections guide breaks those entries down if the badges mean nothing to you yet.
Where to farm it
Legendary drops come from the activity pools that are live in the season. Core playlists and seasonal activities are the usual suspects. Featured activities often double as the best farming grounds. Seasonal activities usually have their own focused loot lists.
Focus one activity at a time so you can measure your drop rate honestly. Do bounties while you farm, since they add rewards to the same hour. Vendor engram focus can narrow drops toward weapons. Our farm gear guide lays out a routine that stacks rewards.
How to compare two rolls
Equip both and run one activity with each. Notice which one feels better in the moments that matter. The tooltip cannot tell you how a weapon handles recoil. Masterwork materials are precious, so spend them on weapons you use weekly.
Keep or shard
Keep the drop if the roll has a strong final-column perk. Keep it if you have not unlocked the weapon in Collections yet. If the weapon is new to you, keep the first copy no matter the perks.
Shard it if you own the weapon and the perks are filler. Duplicate rolls are worth almost nothing once the collection entry is done. Glimmer and shards are easy to re-earn later.
You can always come back for a better roll when the activity is featured. Our weapon perks guide helps you tell filler perks from real ones.
