Destiny 2 Oblation Bloodline: checking the roll

How to check any Destiny 2 weapon's roll and chase a god roll, from inspecting perks in-game to reading Deepsight and crafting patterns.

Chasing a specific Destiny 2 weapon roll comes down to four steps, and none of them need a spreadsheet. Whether you are hunting Oblation or any other legendary, the process is the same.

Step one: inspect what you have

Open the weapon and read the perks on the item itself. Destiny 2 shows the active roll directly, so you always know what you are holding before you compare it to anything else. The same screen shows the weapon’s level and any pattern progress.

Step two: check the ceiling

The Collections tab lists every weapon you have unlocked and shows the perks it can roll. That is where you learn whether your drop is actually good. Our weapon perks guide explains what the common pairs do.

Step three: understand the two trait columns

Most legendary weapons roll two trait perks, and the good ones synergize. Reload speed feeding a damage perk matters more than any single flashy line. Test the pair in patrol before you commit materials.

Barrel and magazine choices matter less than the traits, but they still move range, reload, and handling. A range barrel suits PvP, while a handling barrel feels better in PvE.

Step four: farm the source

Deepsight weapons with red borders unlock crafting patterns, which lets you shape the roll you want at the Enclave. If a weapon is craftable, that is usually faster than praying to RNG. If it is not, farm the activity that drops it and check the source list in-game. Red-border Deepsight drops are the fast lane to a pattern, because they guarantee pattern progress instead of hoping for a random drop.

Keep expectations honest

A themed roll is still just a perk combination, and the best one depends on your build and the activity. A mediocre weapon with a perfect roll is still mediocre, so check the base stats before you fall in love with a perk. Confirm the live perk pool in-game before you chase anything, because pools shift between updates. Our god rolls guide ranks the perks that actually move damage.
