Destiny 2 Redeem Codes: Where to Enter Them

Destiny 2 codes are redeemed on Bungie.net, not in game. Here is the page, the two code formats, and how to tell if one is dead.

Enter Destiny 2 codes on Bungie’s code redemption page while signed into the account you play on. There is no code field inside the game.

How to redeem one

  1. Open the Bungie code redemption page and sign in.
  2. Pick the platform account your Destiny 2 progress lives on.
  3. Paste the code exactly, hyphens included.
  4. Hit redeem and wait for the confirmation.
  5. Restart the game if the item does not appear.

Most rewards land in Collections. Emblems sit under Flair.

Some items go to the Postmaster or a vendor instead, so check all three before assuming a failure.

The two code formats

Bungie.net codes are short groups of characters separated by hyphens. Those are the ones you redeem on the website.

Platform codes are longer strings redeemed through Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, or Epic instead. A code from a store receipt is usually this kind.

Mixing them up is the most common failure. A Steam code typed into Bungie’s page will never work.

Where real codes come from

Bungie posts codes through its own social channels and during streams. Twitch drops are the other regular source, and those need your accounts linked first.

Buying merchandise or a soundtrack from the Bungie Store can also send a code in the order email.

No code gives Silver, Power, or anything that helps you fight. They are all cosmetic.

If a page promises otherwise, it is lying to you for clicks.

How to tell if a code is dead

Check the date on the page where you found it. A code list with no visible “last checked” date is a coin flip.

Older codes tend to keep working, because Bungie rarely pulls them. Newer ones retire faster, so claim them when you see them.

That is also why this page does not print a list. Any list I write today is wrong next month.

A failed code usually means one of three things: it expired, you already claimed it, or you mistyped a character.

If a code will not work

Retype it by hand. Auto-copy picking up a trailing space is a real and very common problem.

Confirm you are signed into the right account. Bungie will not move a redeemed code to another one, so redeeming on the wrong account is permanent.

Restart the game and check Collections before deciding it failed. Delivery is not always instant.

Code rewards are cosmetic, so they will not move your Power. The endgame grind guide covers the things that do.

Shaders and ornaments are the usual rewards, and they take inventory space. The vault management guide covers keeping that under control.
