Destiny 2 Legendary Marks: How to Get Them and What to Buy
Legendary Marks are Destiny 2's account-wide unlock currency. Where they come from and what to buy at the Tenet vendors
Legendary Marks are the account-wide currency that replaced the old shard economy after Monument of Triumph. You will earn hundreds without trying, and they have one purpose: buying unlocks at the Tenet vendors in the Tower Courtyard.
Where Marks come from
The main source is Triumphs. Almost every Triumph pays Marks. The fastest early trick is the Scenic Spot Triumphs on each destination. They need no combat, take minutes each, and pay 10 Marks apiece. The Special Deliveries kiosk in the Tower also hands out 50 Marks as a free login reward.
What they buy
Four vendors sit around the Monument in the Tower Courtyard: the Tenet of Bravery, Devotion, Sacrifice, and Death. You only need to buy one 2-Mark engram from the Tenet of Bravery to unlock all four.
The Bravery vendor is the one you will visit most. It sells engrams for every retired event weapon pool: the Dawning, Festival of the Lost, Guardian Games, Solstice, and more. Each engram costs 2 Marks, there is no weekly cap, and there is no time limit. If you missed an event weapon years ago, this is where you get it now.
The Tenet of Death sells the Immortal ornament set, but you need the Immortal title first.
What Marks do not do
Marks are not a power currency. They do not raise your gear level and they do not buy Focusing. Eververse Focusing costs Bright Dust instead. Old Legendary Shards and planetary materials were retired with the update and are not needed for anything.
Spending rules that save time
- Buy Bravery engrams for pools you actually want. Random pools fill your vault fast.
- Finish the Scenic Spot Triumphs before you spend anything. It is free money.
- Do not hoard past your target list. Marks have no other sink.
The first hour, in order
Starting from zero Marks, the order matters more than the total. Take the free login reward first — it costs nothing and unlocks the vendor trip — then run the Scenic Spot Triumphs on one destination before spending anything, because they pay without combat and you will want that buffer when a retired event pool appears in the Bravery list. Only then start buying, and buy by pool rather than by icon: the pool worth having is the one whose weapons you would actually equip. The currency farming guide covers everything else, and Bright Dust is the currency that pays for Focusing.
