Destiny 2 Sundered Doctrine Raid: How to Prepare

How to prepare for the Sundered Doctrine raid in Destiny 2 — power level tips, loadout planning, checkpoints, and where to find a fireteam before you

Before you queue for Sundered Doctrine, check the raid’s entry requirements in the Director. Every raid in Destiny 2 has a recommended power level, and the current version of that number is displayed on the activity tile. This guide will not quote a figure, because the requirement shifts as the power floor rises. The rule of thumb: if you are at or just under the displayed recommendation, you will feel every shot. A few levels above it, most encounters become manageable.

What kind of raid is it

Sundered Doctrine is a six-player raid from the Episode: Heresy era. It follows the standard raid structure that Destiny 2 has used for years. You fight through a series of encounters, each with its own mechanics, and each completed encounter gives you a checkpoint. That means you do not have to clear the whole thing in one sitting. A team that wipes on a later encounter can restart from the last checkpoint instead of the beginning.

Like most modern raids, the encounters mix add control with damage phases against a boss. Expect arenas where you have to manage adds while a damage window is open, plus at least one fight that punishes a scattered team. The weekly challenge for each encounter awards extra loot, so it is worth learning the mechanics properly rather than brute-forcing with power.

Loadout planning

Bring a balanced setup. Raids reward a mix of burst damage, add clear, and survivability. A common split is one or two players on support supers that buff or heal the team, with the rest on high single-target damage. Weapons should cover your main damage element and a backup, and every player should have a decent option for breaking shields or deleting majors.

Check whether the raid currently calls for champion mods. Recent raids have rotated champion requirements in and out, and the activity details list what is expected. If champions are active, equip the matching mods before you launch. Our god rolls guide helps if you are still deciding what to bring.

Finding a team

Do not walk in blind. Read a fresh guide or watch a clear run first, then use an LFG tool to find a group that matches your experience. Our LFG guide covers how to post and what to write, and how to prepare for raids has a full pre-flight checklist. For the bigger picture of endgame progression, the raids guide explains the current raid roster and reward structure.
