Destiny 2 Sweet Business: Spin-Up Auto Rifle Guide
Sweet Business fires faster the longer you hold the trigger. Here is the Xur source, how the spin-up works, and what the catalyst adds
Sweet Business is an exotic kinetic auto rifle with a huge magazine and a spin-up. The longer you hold the trigger, the faster it fires, and the rate keeps climbing as long as you keep shooting. At full spin, it melts close-range enemies, but it takes a moment to get there.
How to get Sweet Business
Sweet Business is a permanent member of Xur’s weekly exotic pool. Check the kinetic slot on the weekend. The price is Glimmer, Legendary Shards, and an Exotic Cipher. Exotic Engrams can drop it as well.
How to play Sweet Business
Pre-fire around corners. Start the trigger pull before the enemy appears so the spin-up finishes during the fight. The weapon has very large reserves, so sustained fights favor it. Pair it with any subclass that boosts weapon damage while surrounded. Ammo bricks drop generously for it, so sustained lanes stay supplied. Rebuild the spin between fights by tapping a wall or the ground.
The Sweet Business catalyst
The Sweet Business catalyst comes from strikes and the Crucible. It improves handling and reload, which shortens the downtime between engagements.
Habits that ruin the spin-up
- Trigger-tapping, which resets the spin-up.
- Using it at long range, where the recoil is hard to control.
- Reloading too early. The reserves are large on purpose.
FAQ
Is Sweet Business good in PvP? On small maps with pre-fire angles, yes.
Does it need the catalyst? The handling boost helps, but the weapon works without it.
What is the best range? Close to mid. Beyond that the recoil wins.
Sweet Business against the other spin-up rifles
Suros Regime and Breakneck both ramp their fire rate, and they ramp differently, which is what decides the pick. Suros Regime lets you switch between a spinning-up mode and a slower, harder-hitting one, so it can abandon the long commitment mid-magazine; Sweet Business has no such switch, so it wants a target that stays in front of you. Breakneck builds its rate from kills rather than from holding the trigger — it needs a first kill to get going, while Sweet Business only needs a wall. In a lane with predictable adds, Sweet Business is the most forgiving of the three. Against one tanky target that relocates, the switchable rifle is safer. See the weapon slots guide for where it fits and the exotic weapon list for the alternatives.
