Destiny 2 Witherhoard: Blight Pools, God Roll, How to Use

Witherhoard is an exotic kinetic grenade launcher that fires Taken blight. The pool damages enemies over time and keeps damaging them while you hold a different weapon. That is the whole trick: fire it at a boss, swap to your heavy, and the blight keeps ticking.

Where to buy Witherhoard

Witherhoard used to be a Season of Arrivals reward. It is now a permanent purchase from the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower, also called the Exotic Kiosk. The cost is:

• 1 Exotic Cipher
• 100,000 Glimmer
• 150 Glacial Starwort
• 1 Ascendant Shard

How to play Witherhoard

Fire at the ground near a boss, not directly at it. The pool covers more area that way. Blighted enemies spread blight to anything standing nearby when they die, so grouped ads turn into chain reactions. In Gambit and PvE add-clear, one shot can empty a room.

The catalyst: The Bank Job

Pick up The Bank Job from Banshee-44 once you own the weapon. The steps ask for vault keys, grenade launcher multikills, and Guardian kills with grenade launchers — the catalyst guide has the full step list. The catalyst, Silent Alarm, auto-reloads Witherhoard after a short delay when holstered and boosts handling. That turns it into a true swap weapon.

Placement errors that waste a pool

• Buying the weapon before you have an Exotic Cipher saved.
• Firing directly at bosses instead of at their feet.
• Running the catalyst quest in PvE only. The Guardian kill step is far faster in the Crucible.

Is Witherhoard good in PvP? It zones chokepoints and blocks revives, but the slow projectile is easy to dodge. Use it as area denial, not a duel weapon.
