Toxik Guide: Swarm Buffs, Blinding Gas, and Support Tempo

She buffs allies along a flight path and blinds the enemies standing on it. How to chain Adreno-Boost and when to send the swarm.

Toxik (Zoya Pomchenkova) is a Support operator who buffs her own squad while degrading the enemy’s ability to fight back. She is not a damage-over-time operator — nothing in her kit is built to kill slowly. What it does is make her squad shoot better and make the enemy squad shoot worse.

Understanding that distinction fixes most of the mistakes players make with her.

Buff first, blind second

The “Dragonfly” Swarm System is her tactical gear: a swarm of UAVs that travels forward along a path. Allies inside that path get a temporary adrenaline boost; enemies inside it have their hearing and vision briefly impaired and their maximum health reduced.

Note that the swarm does both jobs at once, along one line. That means the throw is a positioning decision about a corridor, not a decision about a person. Send it down the lane your squad is about to occupy and it buffs everyone pushing while disrupting everyone holding.

Adreno-Boost chaining

Adreno-Boost deploys a UAV that enhances nearby allies’ handling and reduces hit flinch. The important clause: allies who score a kill or an assist while buffed receive a stronger boost next time.

That turns her into a tempo operator. The buff is weakest at the start of a fight and strongest after your squad has already won something — so the correct time to re-deploy is immediately after a won exchange, not before a hard push. Bank the stronger version for the next contact.

Dragonfly lane math

Three placement rules cover most situations:

  1. Aim it at a straight run of ground your squad must cross, not at an open field where half the swarm’s coverage is wasted.
  2. Fire it before the push begins. A swarm thrown after contact buffs nobody who is still alive to use it.
  3. Track where it will be in three seconds, not where it is when it leaves your hand. The path is the payload.

Swift Healing in Operations

Her trait shortens the time nearby squadmates need to use consumables in Operations, and shortens the delay before an injured teammate starts healing in Warfare.

In Operations this is quietly one of the strongest support traits in the mode: a squad that can patch up faster in cover survives the third-party fight that always follows a won engagement. Pair it with the Support class revive speed and she is a sustain pick, not a fragging pick.

Not a damage pick

She carries a rifle like every other operator, and that is the extent of her offence. If a fight comes down to two players trading shots with no abilities left, Toxik is at a disadvantage against any Assault class.

Play her one step behind the front, keep the swarm cycling, and let the buffs do the work. For a more direct disruption partner take Nox; for a second sustain layer take Vlinder.
