GTA 6 System Requirements: No PC Spec Sheet Exists

There is no PC version of GTA 6 and no official specs. What the console baseline actually tells you, and how to spot a fabricated requirements table.

The search phrase is “GTA 6 system requirements”, and the accurate answer is that no such document exists because no PC version has been announced. Everything published under that heading is either console hardware or somebody’s guess wearing a table.

Why there is no spec sheet

Rockstar has confirmed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for November 19, 2026, and nothing else. No PC store page, no PC pre-order, no system requirements, no mention in any Newswire post. Specs are written against a build that targets specific hardware, and that build does not exist publicly yet.

Rockstar’s own pattern points the same way. GTA 5 reached consoles in September 2013 and PC in April 2015. Red Dead Redemption 2 reached consoles in October 2018 and PC in November 2019. Both ports arrived with their own requirements published at announcement, not years in advance. The PC status page keeps the current position and the wording behind it.

The console baseline is the only real floor

The one hard performance figure on the record is 30 frames per second on console, from Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson, with 60fps described as a decision still sitting with the technical team. Digital Foundry’s analysis of the Extended Look puts the PS5 footage at roughly 2560x1440 native with ray-traced reflections and global illumination.

That combination is a reasonable description of where a future PC port starts: a build that holds 1440p at 30fps with ray tracing on a 2020 console. It is not a spec list, and any table that presents it as one is converting an analysis into a requirement.

The streaming workaround closed

For a few days in October it looked like PC players might have a route in. The Verge reported that Xbox had secured exclusive cloud streaming rights for the game, and several outlets recast that as the game being playable on PC at launch. On October 7, Xbox’s chief strategy officer Matthew Ball denied it directly: the game “will not be streaming exclusively or to PC”. Rockstar did not comment.

So there is no confirmed way to play on a computer on November 19, cloud or otherwise. Anyone selling access on that basis is either misinformed or running a scam, which is the territory the pre-order scam page covers.

Spotting a fabricated table

Three tells. First, a table that lists a specific CPU and GPU without naming where the numbers came from. Second, tables that contradict each other — if four sites all have “official” requirements and all four differ, at most one could be right and none of them is sourced. Third, a release date attached to the spec sheet that does not match the announced platform list.

The genuine article will appear on Rockstar’s own support pages, alongside a store page that lets you pre-order. Until then, treat a requirements table as a thought experiment about the engine, not as a purchase decision input.

What a PC player can do meanwhile

Nothing that requires buying hardware for this game. If a PC version arrives, its requirements will land with the announcement, and the storage figure alone (the console estimate sits somewhere between roughly 120 and 200GB, covered on the download size page) suggests an SSD is a given rather than a choice. Building around a 1440p target with ray tracing in mind is the closest thing to a safe assumption, and it is still an assumption.
