GTA 6 Characters: Jason, Lucia and the Leonida Cast
Who Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are, the supporting cast Rockstar has named, and how switching and the Criminal Profile system work.
Rockstar’s own character pages are the only place that names people without also naming a performer, and that turns out to be useful: the cast structure is settled even though the credit list is not. The voice actor breakdown handles who is behind the voices; this page is about who the people are.
The two leads
Jason Duval is a guy who has been around the wrong side of the law long enough to know how it ends, and Lucia Caminos is the first female co-lead in a numbered Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar’s own synopsis sets them up as a pair who already understand the deck is stacked: an easy score goes wrong, and they end up inside a conspiracy that runs across the state of Leonida rather than a story about one city.
That “both of them, together” framing matters mechanically. GTA 5’s three leads were three separate lives that intersected. Jason and Lucia are written as one unit with two perspectives, and the trailers keep them in the same frame far more often than not.
How the named supporting cast fits
Rockstar has published profiles for the people around them. Brian Heder is a classic Keys drug runner from the golden age of smuggling who still moves product through his boat yard, with his third wife Lori; Jason lives rent-free in one of his properties, which is a tidy way of explaining why the two know each other. Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre’quan Priest, Real Dimez and Raul Bautista round out the named cast, and where each one sits in the story is deliberately under-described on Rockstar’s site.
Switching, and what it is not
You can switch between Jason and Lucia, and the Extended Look shows it happening instantly while the two are standing together — not through the fade-to-sky transition GTA 5 used. What that is not is co-op. The PlayStation listing says one player, offline play enabled, and nothing in the marketing describes a second participant taking the other lead. There is no split-screen.
The Criminal Profile
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson described a Criminal Profile in the hands-off previews published with the Extended Look: a running record of how you commit crimes. He told IGN there is no right or wrong way to play, but that repeated behaviour can change how the world responds and how the story unfolds.
That is the most consequential system anyone has confirmed, because it applies to routine play rather than to a menu choice. Rob the same corner store politely five times and the profile records that; the same applies to how much noise you make and how many people you leave behind.
The relationship branch
Preview coverage from early October describes an intimacy branch between the two that players advance themselves, with choices changing how the pair behave toward each other. It is optional in the sense that the campaign does not require it, and Rockstar has not detailed how far the branch reaches into mission structure or endings.
Who is not in it
No Michael, Trevor or Franklin. Rockstar keeps numbered entries narratively separate, so at most expect a radio mention or a background nod. Anyone claiming a returning lead is in Leonida is guessing, and the confirmed information page is the better place to check what Rockstar has actually put on the record.
