The separate dodge input

Dodge is its own button (Space on PC, X on PlayStation, A on Xbox), distinct from the parry button. You use it for the attacks you cannot parry: the orange or red unblockables (overhead slams, charges, grabs, some ranged). Dodge sideways, not backward — a backward roll covers less ground and often leaves you still inside a sweeping hitbox, while a sideways roll puts you on the enemy’s flank.

Perfect dodge sets up a Gun Strike

A perfectly timed dodge against an eligible attack does the same thing a perfect parry does: it spawns the red Gun Strike marker over the enemy. So a precise evade is not just survival — it is also a counter opportunity. After a perfect parry or perfect dodge, fire your ranged or secondary attack without aiming (the same input you use for the Gun Strike) to trigger it. The Gun Strike kills or staggers the target and, crucially, restores one armour segment.

Dodge is a limited resource

Dodge charges are finite and refill over time. Do not burn them on minoris you could have parried — every wasted dodge is a charge you will not have when a Warrior winds up a red slam. Parrying is what rebuilds armour; dodging is what saves you from the hits parrying cannot answer. Players who try to dodge everything spend the whole mission with no armour, because dodging gives nothing back.

Where the Gun Strike fits the loop

The Gun Strike is the core of your armour engine. It comes from a perfect parry or a perfect dodge, and it returns a segment you then spend again.
