Destiny 2 Zaouli's Bane: what it is and how to get it

Zaouli's Bane is a name players search for often. Use these steps to identify the item, find its source, and check whether it is still in the loot pool.

Tracking down a specific named item in Destiny 2 takes four steps. They work for Zaouli’s Bane and for most other named items in the game.

Step one: open Collections from the main menu and type the name into the search field. The search is not case sensitive, and partial names work. Every item you have ever held shows up there, including duplicates you dismantled long ago. The entry lists the item type and slot, which tells you what you are dealing with.

Reading the Collections source line

Step two: read the source line. It names the activity, vendor, quest, or event that grants the item. If the source is a vendor, travel there and check the stock, since vendors rotate their own shelves.

If the source is an activity, run that playlist, strike, dungeon, or raid until it drops. If the source is a quest, open the Pursuits tab and follow the remaining steps.

Step three: check the lore tab. Many named weapons in Destiny 2 are tied to a character or event, and the flavor text usually hints at that context. It will not list drop rates, but it helps you tell apart items with similar names.

Step four: judge the roll before you invest. A weapon’s name does not decide its value. The perk combination does. Our weapon perks guide breaks down what the common perks actually do.

If the drop has a strong pair, hold onto it. If not, shard it and keep farming, using the targets in our god rolls guide.

Loot pool rotation and reissues

One warning: sources rotate. An item that dropped from a season’s activity may sit out of the loot pool for months. It can return later, sometimes as a reissue with a new power floor.

If Collections returns nothing for the name, the item is probably not currently obtainable. Check the in-game directory or the official Destiny 2 site before you grind an activity that no longer drops it.

Working activity by activity instead

If you are trying to complete the whole catalogue, work activity by activity rather than name by name. The Collections tab tracks completion per source, not per item name. Keep an eye on vault space while you farm, since the postmaster fills faster than most players expect.
