The two exceptions that break a paper sheet

The Mimic produces a fake Ghost Orb. On top of its real three (Spirit Box, Ultraviolet, Freezing) it can show Ghost Orbs as a fourth clue, even on a zero-evidence run. So if you see orbs alongside those three, suspect the Mimic rather than assuming a fourth evidence exists.

Reduced-evidence difficulties hide evidence. On Nightmare and Apocalypse I the ghost shows only two of its three; on Insanity and Apocalypse II only one; on Apocalypse III none. Rule out ghosts by what you find, never by what is missing — a blank reading is not proof a ghost lacks that evidence. The difficulty breakdown covers this in detail.

How to use the chart in a live contract

Start with the cheapest evidence: a video camera in the favorite room for orbs, and an EMF reader parked on a door that recently moved. Two confirmed pieces usually leave a handful of candidates, and from there behavior tells and the identification order close the case.
