Space Marine 2 Tactical Auspex Scan Build
How Auspex Scan marks and amplifies damage, the Battle Focus perk that ties it to parries, and why Tactical suits your first hundred hours.
Auspex Scan
The Tactical’s signature ability scans an area, reveals enemies in it, and marks them so they take more damage. That damage multiplier is what makes Tactical the answer to any Extremis the team is struggling with — a Zoanthrope shielding its pack, a Neurothrope buffing everything nearby, a Terminus target that needs focused fire. Drop the scan, then pour damage into the marked target.
Battle Focus ties it to parries
The Battle Focus perk (a Tactical gear perk) turns a perfect parry or perfect block into an Auspex mark on the parried enemy. That means a Tactical who is parrying well is also marking targets for the whole squad without spending the ability cooldown — parry discipline and damage output become the same habit.
Supporting perks worth taking
Communion of Fire (a team perk) reduces squad recoil by 20 percent, which is quietly huge for a team running bolters. Signal Jammer (a signature perk) prevents enemies marked by Auspex Scan from calling reinforcements, directly shutting down the bug breach mechanic on certain missions. Both reward the Tactical for thinking about the squad, not just its own numbers.
Why start here
The Tactical mixes ranged fire from rifles with a melee sidearm, so you learn both halves of the game. Three armour segments give room to learn the parry timing, and Auspex Scan is useful in essentially every mission. Once you understand what the mark does, you understand how the game wants you to handle its scariest enemies. For the shared defence foundation, read parry timing by defence type and which defence type to carry. The classes overview sets Tactical against the other five, and executions as your armour refill covers the melee side of staying alive.
