Destiny 2 Exotic Weapon Sources: Missions, Raids, Kiosks
Where each hard-to-find Destiny 2 exotic comes from in 2026: Fire and Ice, Derealize, Last Wish, and the Monument kiosks
Most exotics fall out of the world at random. The interesting ones come from specific places. This page lists where the exotics players search for actually come from.
Campaign and mission exotics
The Praxic Blade is a guaranteed drop. It comes from Fire and Ice, the fourth main mission of the Renegades campaign. Finish it once and the sword is yours on every character.
Barrow-Dyad is the other mission exotic. It drops from Derealize, which you unlock through The Taken Path quest in The Nether. Derealize also runs in the Portal’s Exotic mission rotator, so you can catch it there. Your first clear includes Deepsight Resonance, which unlocks the crafting pattern at the Enclave.
Quicksilver Storm used to be a paid pre-order bonus. Owners of Lightfall can claim it from the Tower kiosks. Bring an Exotic Cipher and the listed materials, and check the kiosk for the current cost.
Raid and dungeon exotics
One Thousand Voices drops from the final chest in Last Wish, the room after you beat Riven. You need an Ethereal Key to open that chest, and you can hold several at once.
Heirloom, the Solar exotic bow, drops from the Equilibrium dungeon’s final boss. Contest Mode runs guarantee it. Outside Contest you get one roll per character per week, so clear it on all three.
World drops and the kiosks
Jade Rabbit and most older exotics come from random Exotic Engrams and Powerful Engrams. Legend and Master Lost Sectors are the fastest way to force these drops on a schedule.
If a source has left rotation, the Monument of Triumph kiosk in the Tower sells the weapon back. The price is an Exotic Cipher plus materials like Ascendant Shards and Glimmer. Xur’s weekend stock is another route for exotics you are missing.
If the exotic will not drop
First confirm you own the content. Dungeon and raid exotics never drop from the world pool. Second, check Collections. You must own a weapon once before its catalyst or kiosk entry unlocks.
Catalysts
Every exotic now has a catalyst. Most come from ritual play, Vanguard Ops, Crucible, or Gambit. Raid and dungeon catalysts drop from the activity’s final boss. Track missing ones under Collections, then Patterns and Catalysts.
